Pony and Colt Baseball

Welcome to the GWBA PONY Baseball program for youth 13 and 14 years-old. Competitive, focused, higher skills and fun baseball played between 30-36 teams in Northern Illinois, ranging from:Lake Villa, Wauconda, Wonder Lake, Genoa City, Island Lake, Fox Lake, McHenry, Johnsburg, Antioch and Woodstock to name a few.

This program is designed to develop players in multiple positions leading to a rounded player in preparation for playing playing high school baseball. All GWBA teams play in the Nippersink PONY Baseball League and games are played during the week and on weekends and with an occasional double header. All teams are bracketed into divisions and standings reflect Win/Loss/Tie/GP/Runs For and Runs Against and Ties.

The season starts in mid April and in late June with a Sweet 16 bracketed Playoffs leading to the Nippersink World Series game played on July 01. Open the Season Outline for next season's information that starts with Player Evaluations in August 2007 and remember to complete the Medical Release!

The GWBA COLT Baseball program is for youth 15 and 16 years-old that are already playing High School Baseball - either Woodstock or Marian High Schools. All Rostered players have first choice to play Colt Baseball - then and only then, are other Players added by the Manager.

Again, this is for the more experienced player that desires to play the game in just one or two positions throughout the season, is playing high school baseball, and may be contemplating playing college baseball. Competitive, focused, higher skills and fun baseball played between 10 - 15 teams, from the similar Nippersink COLT Baseball League and IHSA communities, the Colt season extends the actual school season.

The team is formed in April preceding the season and Colt baseball is played after the high school baseball season ends. Games are played during the week and on weekends, with an occasional double header and tournament. All teams are bracketed into one division and the best record determines the winner.
