CABA World Series Baseball
|
Welcome to the Greatest
Show on Dirt! The GWBA is fortunate to field teams in
the Crystal Lake CABA World Series, voted the No.1 CABA
World Series site in the United States. The GWBA and our dedicated volunteers in conjunction with the Woodstock Lightning, Little League, City of Woodstock, Recreation Department and the Dream Field Volunteer Maintenance Crew, is responsible for planning and managing Woodstock CABA Days and all World Series games played during the week at Emricson Park's Dream Field and Sullivan field. Historically, we have a successful record playing in CABA where teams from around the world converge on Crystal Lake and more then 45,000 people attend the event. The level of play is very high with teams having been together for an extended period and typically, the younger GWBA and Lightning teams rise to the occasion. Looking ahead, in 2008 the GWBA will field a 9 year-old team comprised of players from Woodstock and the McHenry County area. The 11 year-old team will be an existing or new Lightning team and the 15 year-old team is TBA. This team could be WHS and Marian Freshman baseball players combined to form a new CABA World Series team. The CABA World Series is a "must have" on any player's baseball resume that is serious about the game and every player will remember the CABA World Series for a lifetime. Please check back in February 2008 and we will have an update for the 2008 CABA World Series GWBA and Lightning teams.
